I wonder is this a technical glitch from blackberry software issue, that even the correct password doesnt work? Very annoying and surprising that a brand new passport has this problem also!! After searching online, i found that while in pocket or someone playing with it, wrong attempts of picture lock goes to the device password lock. How did it reach incorrect 5/5, i dont know.

I looked at the Protect web site and I think it gives you eight attempts, but I am not sure if they are in addition to your failed attempts on the phone. You can also try resetting the password using BlackBerry Protect, but as suggested, you need the password to set a new Password. After you are allowed the sixth to ninth attempt, it will warn you that you have your last attempt (10th) and it will wipe if wrong.
